About the Role

Summary: As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects provided by Laconic and their associated environmental monitoring services and products.

This position is based in Chicago, IL, and requires in-person attendance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the efficient coordination and accomplishment of planning, scope, development, design, and direction for major projects.
  • Act as the project manager, implementing corporate decisions, guidance, laws, regulations, and policies in developing the project and intermediate products in support of the project.
  • Coordinate the planning, design, cost, and other aspects for projects with substantial scope and complexity, as measured by geographical area, management demands, technical intricacies, and public issues.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned projects with sponsor/customer; foreign federal, state, and local government agencies; interested external organizations; and higher authorities.
  • Oversee concurrent work efforts to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and achievement of targeted benefits while focusing on customer satisfaction, anticipating project sponsors’ needs, and proactively delivering high-quality results.
  • Apply full lifecycle project management processes and tools using Laconic’s project management philosophies, from project initiation and planning to execution and closure.
  • Ensure proper coordination and execution of all environmental monitoring and survey activities within established policies and procedures, laws and regulations, and safety guidelines.

 

Requirements

  • Required Experience: Five years of specialized experience at mid-level management level, which includes working with project management processes and policies of assigned projects; managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, design, construction, and direction of assigned projects; managing project milestones and budgets of assigned projects. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You will be evaluated on your level of competency in the following areas: 
  • Oral Communication 
  • Project Management 
  • Technical Competence with environmental monitoring and computer information systems suites 
  • Writing
